Festival and Special Events Management

To maintain public order and safety, the City assumes an active role in managing special events.

A "special event" is defined as any organized non-routine activity on public or private property that may expect to attract over 2,000 attendees and significantly affect neighboring property owners, residents and businesses and which may require more parking spaces than the sponsor's property can accommodate. All applications should be submitted 45 days prior to the proposed date of such event.

Furthermore, to help grow the Local Option Tax (LOT) to support the City's tourist economy, the City provides financial support to locally-based organizations for events held in Sun Valley.
