Landscape Guidelines

These guidelines were developed to educate our community about conserving water in residential and commercial landscapes. They include best practices in irrigation, mulch, soil, and vegetation to limit water loss and to save water-users money. These recommendations were developed by local landscape industry representatives, community organizations, and planning staff from Blaine County and the Cities of Bellevue, Hailey, Ketchum, and Sun Valley.

The recommendations were adopted as a resolution by the City of Sun Valley in 2018. This Resolution can be cited when applying for state, federal and private grants involving water conservation projects for municipal infrastructure needs, rebate programs, pilot projects, metering, and more.  Please view City of Sun Valley Resolution 2018-02 and the attached comprehensive list of drought tolerant trees, shrubs, and grasses for the City of Sun Valley for more information.
