Planning & Zoning

Planning and Zoning are led by the Planning and Zoning Commission, with executive support from the Community Development Department. Together, they oversee the current, long-range and special project planning to ensure their compliance with City Code and the goals and policies of the Sun Valley Comprehensive Plan. Through public notices and public hearings, it is the goal of the City to proactively engage citizens and maxmize public comment to ensure both the private and public interests are adequately considered before a final decision is made.

Property owners who seek to build on a new vacant property or remodel an existing developed one are advised to contact the Community Development Department early in the design process.
