Starting a Business

To start a business in Idaho, you will need to register with various state departments. Please visit the State of Idaho for information.

In addition to compliance with state regulations for business registration, any business operating in the City of Sun Valley is required to apply for a Local Option Tax Permit. Please contact the City Clerk for further information on the subject.

It is also the business owner's responsibility to ensure the chosen premises or site for business operations is in conformance with the City's zoning ordinance.  Please contact the Community Development Department regarding the City's zoning requirements and development regulations.
